The Popcorn diet works like this: eat nothing but popcorn. That's it. Easy enough? But wait, it's not just any popcorn; it has to be hot-air cooked popcorn sans butter and salt. For all you popcorn lovers out there you know that popcorn without butter and salt is one of the blandest things you could possibly eat. So why subject yourself to this kind of torture?

Eating nothing but popcorn may sound like fun the first couple days, but it'll grow old, fast, as would any diet that involves eating just one item of food for an extended period of time. So, when you become tired of eating only popcorn, you'll wind up binging on other foods and you can kiss any weight loss goodbye. Also, even though unsalted and unbuttered popcorn is low in fat and calories and high in fiber, this diet is unhealthy if followed long-term. A diet that requires you to eat only one type of food is bound to be unhealthy, because it strips the body of essential vitamins and nutrients not found in that particular food. If your diet plan is not something you can maintain for the rest of your life, then it's not worth your time. Any weight lost achieved on the Popcorn Diet will instantly be regained once the diet has stopped.
